Description
Professionals in the fields of healthcare, mental health, social care, security, and education are the target audience for the PMVA course. The purpose of the training is to provide participants with the information and abilities necessary to prevent and defuse tense or aggressive situations, so protecting the safety of all parties involved, including those who are giving care or assistance.
Risk assessment, comprehension of aggression triggers and behavioural patterns, communication and de-escalation skills, physical interventions (if required), legal and ethical issues, and post-incident assistance are often included in the training. Depending on the training provider and the needs of the sector or organisation, the PMVA course’s precise content and length may change.
When all other options have failed and a threat is imminent, physical interventions are often used as a final resort.
